PhD student (f/m/d) HiChol translational research network on inherited intrahepatic cholestasis syndromes. – Dept. of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Infectious Diseases

The research group of Dr. rer. nat. Carola Dröge (PI of project 1) focusses on the genetics underlying a broad range of cholestatic syndromes.
Within the project whole exome and whole genome sequencing will be carried out and bioinformatics will be applied to determine the potential pathogenicity of detected variants and identification of novel cholestasis-related genes. Selected variants will also be studied for their biological consequences in vitro. The influence of more common disease modifying variants will be studied regarding their impact on disease progression or therapeutic options.
Please bring with you:
- Candidates hold a Master degree (or equivalent) in biological sciences or bioinformatics. They are open minded, active and have a good command of the English language (oral and written).
- Strong background in genetics.
We offer:
We offer working in an interdisciplinary and international team in our lab and clinical department but also within the multisite/multicentric HiChol consortium and participation at national and international scientific conferences.
